Swim Course

Open Water Swim – 800 Meters (.50 mi)

The race begins with a mass start from the water at Panther Creek. Swimmers will navigate a one lap, counter clockwise loop before exiting for transition. The paved boat ramp will provide athletes with a safe and quick exit from the water. A shoe drop is permitted for the short, paved run up to transition.

It is mandatory that athletes wear swim caps during the entire duration of the swim. Swim caps will be provided.

Motus Triathlon follows the USA Triathlon wetsuit rules.

Bike Course

Mountain Bike – 13.0 Miles

The two lap bike course starts from the paved parking lot at the Panther Creek Boat Ramp and immediately heads to the single track trails of Panther Creek State Park. The trails vary in difficulty as they make their way around the park. There are plenty of opportunities for faster riders to pull ahead, as some of the main trails are wide enough to fit side by side with another cyclist. The bike course has its challenges, but it is a great course for first time participants and extremely spectator-friendly.

Run Course

Trail Run – 4.2 Miles

The run course shares the bike course for the first stretch before breaking off and exploring the other side of the park. Most of the run course resembles that of a cross country course. The most technical part of the run occurs near the halfway point after a wooden bridge crossing, but then gives way to open fields and rolling hills.

Aid Stations

All aid stations will be stocked with water, electrolyte drink, gels, bars, fruit, snacks, and basic first aid supplies.
